Both use the same 6.5oz inherently modacrylic construction, so the choice comes down to personal fit preference and how much adjustability you want during your shift.

The inherently modacrylic 6.5oz fabric used in both styles is built to provide flame-resistant protection suited to arc flash and flash fire environments, but the specific certification and CAT rating should be confirmed on each product page. Always verify the ATPV rating against your job site's required protection level before relying on it for a specific hazard category.

The button-down shirt uses a ripstop weave in addition to the same modacrylic blend, which adds tear resistance and durability on top of the base fabric's flame resistance. This added construction, along with the button-front hardware, contributes to the higher price compared to the simpler pullover long sleeve tee.

Wash in cold or warm water with a mild detergent, and avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and starch, since these can both weaken the flame-resistant properties and dull the brightness of the hi-vis fabric over time. Turning the shirt inside out before washing also helps protect the color vibrancy and any reflective elements longer.

Both the button-down shirt and long sleeve tee can be worn as a standalone outer layer in warm to moderate conditions, keeping the hi-vis panels fully visible. In colder weather, they can also be layered under an FR jacket, as long as the outer layer doesn't cover the hi-vis sections needed for visibility compliance.

Both styles are generally cut with some extra room through the chest and shoulders to allow for movement and layering during physical work.
